Preach Cafe
To eat is human, to eat well is divine.
You’ll see it on the decor at Preach and man is it true! Head to Preach Cafe if you’re looking for green smoothies, hip vibes and pancakes with coconut ice cream. Somehow Preach manages to make everything healthyāor it does a fantastic job of making it seem that way! Their Banana Pancakes are gluten free, vegan AND they have coconut ice cream on top. I strongly suggest pancakes, but their scrambled eggs and Detox Green smoothie were delicious as well and the perfect pre-yoga breakfast.
Preach Cafe is located right on Campbell Parade next to Bondi Backpackers Hostel. The staff are so warm and the food comes out like a work of art.
If you haven’t booked a place to stay in Bondi yet, Bondi Backpackers is the place to be. The ocean view room on the top floor has a glorious view of the beach, there’s rooftop yoga twice a week and free surf board rentals.
Swell
Swell is the perfect spot to FaceTime every person you can think of for hours while drinking iced coffee and people watching, trust me. The scrambled eggs, iced coffee and fruit bowl with yogurt (I swear mine was acai but it doesn’t say on the menu) are all simple yet decadent.
It’s just one block from the beach and right next to Yoga Barāan awesome yoga studio with 2 weeks unlimited classes for newcomers at $35āyes please! I especially loved the YB Beats class.
Trio Cafe
I visited Trio Cafe on a rainy day towards the end of my trip. I specifically planned nothing for the day and laid in bed all morning watching Vikings on my phone and intermittently searching for a new breakfast heavenāenter Trio Cafe. I saw Mango Lime Pancakes on the menu AND Cinnamon & Vanilla Scented Fresh Toast, so I ordered a glass of rosĆ© to help me decide. I almost ordered a half order of each but didn’t, thank God. A full order of the pancakes was enough for my breakfast and dinner, and eat it for dinner I didāon the hill overlooking Bondi Beach while playing fetch with a strangers dog, specifically.
I made sure to really soak up every moment and bite of my time at Trio Cafe. It was a brunch of slow sippin’ and savoring every bite with lemon curd and double cream on top. The next day I tried the eggs and cinnamon french toast with a friend and I can vouch for Trio being a well-rounded breakfast spot. š
Speedos
The girl behind the counter at Bondi Backpackers recommended Speedos. Take one look at their vibrant website and you’ll agree this place is downright magical! It’s on the far north end of Bondi Beach right next to Let’s Go Surfing where I wanted to book a surf lessonāthe guys there are awesome, gave me super helpful tips and I strongly recommend them! Anyway, I opted for a chunky wooden table and bench outside and started with iced coffee served in a mason jar.
Order the Summer Coconut Bowl and you’ll feel like you’re eating colorful space food from another universe. I was so full from all the fruit and berries that by the time I made it to the coconut tapioca on the bottom, I was stuffed (don’t worry I still ate it). While I only ate here once, I’m confident everything on their menu is worth tryingāplus it’s healthy, tasty and seriously Instagrammable.
No matter where you dine on Bondi Beach, you have breathtaking views (of surfers) and coastal walks to work off the foodāso indulge!
P.S. Bacon in Australia is NOT the same as in the USA.
Love,
Tara
Yayyyy!!! I’ve seen/heard great things about Speedos!
What do you mean bacon isn’t the same?
It’s not bacon, it’s like flimsy fried ham haha
