Understanding the Accommodation Options on Siesta Key
When you’re wondering where to stay on Siesta Key, I imagine you naturally assume there are scores of hotels to choose from. I mean, it’s Siesta Key, right?! Home of the show Siesta Key and the beach named the #1 beach in the USA by TripAdvisor?
Surely this major tourism destination has tons of hotels to choose from and all the main hotel chains have a hotel there right? Wrong.

No Hotel Chains Or High-Density Hotels on Siesta Key
Despite Siesta Key’s popularity, you may be shocked to learn that there are very few true hotels on Siesta Key.
Fortunately, this is really good news. There are laws in place that prevent Siesta Key from being developed with high-density hotels. This ensures that the old-Florida charm and island lifestyle you love continue thriving on the island, rather than letting it become like every other overdeveloped tourism destination.
Unfortunately, this means that there aren’t many true hotels or resorts to choose from.
All Privately-Owned Vacation Rentals or Multi-Unit Boutique “Resorts”
Most of the accommodation options on Siesta Key are vacation rentals in condo buildings, privately-owned homes and a few multi-unit boutique “resorts”.
You’ll see “resort” in the name but it’s more of a multi-unit building with private rentals and a shared common area. It won’t have the services you typically associate with the word “resort”.
There also aren’t many options literally on the sand.
For this reason, my list of the best places to stay on Siesta Key below includes the absolute best beachfront accommodation options as well as amazing Siesta Key rentals that aren’t on the beach but are damn close.

Location, Location, Location: Choosing Where to Stay on Siesta Key Florida
As you begin your hunt for the best beachfront hotels at Siesta Key, keep the location on the island in mind. Siesta Key is a long island and the beachfront hotels and accommodations below are all across it.
If you want to stay walking distance to restaurants, nightlife and shopping, and basically be in the heart of it all, I recommend staying walking distance to the Siesta Key Village.
If you want privacy and don’t mind driving to get to restaurants and shops, stay in a Siesta Key beach hotel near the South Bridge. The beach hotels in this area also offer more private stretches of beach, so you don’t have to deal with crowds or noise as much, and they are usually more affordable.

Best Beachfront Hotels at Siesta Key & Top Places to Stay
Okay, let’s find you the best place to stay in Siesta Key Florida!
Since there aren’t many beachfront hotels on Siesta Key, the list below covers all the best beachfront Siesta Key accommodation options, as well as the best places to stay right across from the beach.
I made sure that every option below is in an excellent location and has hundreds of stellar reviews that are recent.

The Residences on Siesta Key Beach – On the Beach
On the south end of Siesta Key right near the South Bridge and Point of Rocks Beach, you can stay right on the beach in luxury at The Residences on Siesta Key Beach.
Part of the Hyatt Residence Club, these beachfront rental units will leave you wanting nothing. You’ll thoroughly appreciate the five-star service from the on-site staff, and that’ s before you even get to the stunning rooms!
Each large unit features tasteful decor, a spa bath and a spacious kitchen, with many having multiple bedrooms and ocean views, as well.
The property has everything you need to unwind on site, including a pool, bar, fitness center and BBQ facilities, plus shuffleboard and ping pong.

Siesta Sands on the Beach – On the Sand, Behind the Village
If you picture walking out your door and onto the sparkling white sand of Siesta Key Beach, then you want to stay at Siesta Sands on the Beach. However, this place books up fast and far in advance. You’ve been warned.
This small condo building is on the north end of Siesta Key Beach right behind the village. It’s one of the few, if not only, beachfront hotels at Siesta Key that is literally on the sand.
These eclectic and coastal condo units will give you classic Old Florida feels and all the comforts of home. Each unit has a kitchen, sunroom and bedroom, and the lower units have a nice patio area on the beach.

Siesta Dunes – On the Beach
Situated right on Crescent Beach, Siesta Dunes Beachfront Condominiums have privately-owned condo units available for rent.
Each unit is furnished and decorated by the owner, meaning there’s not any consistency in decor or quality between units, but you can rest assured that most of the units are stunning and homey.
The stunning beachfront property has a salt-water pool, hot tub, BBQ grills, beach deck, tennis & pickleball courts, and a clubhouse. They also offer beach chairs on a first come, first serve basis.
Crescent Beach is located on the south end of Siesta Key. It’s not walking distance to the Siesta Key Village but there are a few shops and restaurants right near the South Bridge, including the famous Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar.

Siesta Key Beach Resort and Suites – Boutique Resort Across From the Beach, In the Village
Okay, Siesta Key Beach Resort and Suites is probably the closest you’ll get to a true resort on Siesta Key thanks to the on-site tiki bar with LIVE MUSIC! Plus, according to reviews, the tiki bar drinks are fantastic.
This boutique resort is right in the Siesta Key Village and across the street from Public Beach Access 5 (my favorite access and where I went growing up). So location-wise, you’re set!
The property has a beautiful updated pool and jacuzzi with tons of seating to lounge, as well as tiki picnic tables. When it’s time to hit the sand, there are complimentary beach chairs and carts available to use. If you want a small set of wheels for exploring the island, they also have golf cart rentals available.
As far as accommodations, the rooms are simple but have everything that counts. Everything is spotless, the beds are comfortable and the A/C is ice cold.

The Sea Spray Resort – Motel Across From the Beach, Walking Distance to the Village

Tropical Breeze Resort – Boutique Resort Near the Beach, Behind the Village
This small resort is one of the best place to stay on Siesta Key, in my opinion.
This beautiful, updated property has multiple private units and a shared community area with two heated pools and a jacuzzi. It gives you the best of both worlds because you get more of a resort-ish feel with the privacy of a private rental.
Every room is equipped with Wifi and a fridge, and some units have an entire kitchen. Tropical Breeze Resort has everything from Studio units and Queen Suites to a multi-bedroom suite with a private pool!
Best of all, this is in the charming little neighborhood along the beach right behind the Siesta Key Village! You’ll be on the beach or in the Village in less than a five-minute walk.

Siesta Key Beachside Villas – Boutique Resort Near the Beach, Behind the Village
Similar to the rental above, Siesta Key Beachside Villas will give you more of a resort feel because there’s a solid community area.

Captiva Beach Resort – Two Minute Walk to the Beach, South End of the Island
Aside from its close proximity to Crescent Beach and affordable price, my favorite thing about Captiva Beach Resort is how all the units are tastefully updated and have a “curated Airbnb” feel.
Whether you rent a studio or suite unit, you’ll have a seating area, Wifi, cable TV and plenty of beach towels, in addition to everything else you need to stay comfortable.
While Captiva does not have a pool, it has plenty else to keep you entertained including bocce ball, table tennis, BBQ grills and more!

Twin Palms at Siesta – Five Minute Walk to the Beach, South End of the Island
Pack up the complimentary wagon with your complimentary beach towels, cooler and beach chairs and within a five-minute walk, you’ll be on the sand!
Every immaculate unit at Twin Palms has a cozy patio, kitchen, Wifi, flat-screen, complimentary toiletries, and of course, all the essentials.
